Abstract: At present, the development of applied mathematics courses in Vietnam's higher vocational colleges is subject to certain restrictions, and the development speed is slow. The root cause is the lack of professional services. The establishment of applied mathematics courses in higher vocational colleges must have its reason and necessity. Therefore, the first task is to analyze the main reasons for the lack of service in applied mathematics courses and to carry out in-depth reforms in the construction of applied mathematics courses in higher vocational colleges with the service professional as the guide, and rebuild the service function. The reform of the basic courses of applied mathematics in higher vocational colleges should take the service of professional courses as the ultimate goal, to maximize the value of courses.
