Abstract: This qualitative study aimed to understand the challenges contributing to career immobility among teachers and to explore factors that hinder their professional growth. Specifically, it sought to identify the difficulties teachers face in advancing their careers and to gather their recommendations for overcoming these obstacles. The research was conducted in the Maramag I District, Bukidnon, involving ten public school teachers selected for their relevant experiences with career stagnation. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and analyzed using thematic content analysis to uncover common themes related to financial difficulties, lack of recognition, and the importance of proactive professional development. The findings revealed that stagnant salaries and financial strain limit teachers’ ability to invest in further education and career advancement. Participants also reported feelings of being undervalued by colleagues and the system, which affected their motivation and professional morale. Despite these challenges, teachers emphasized resilience and continuous self-improvement, recommending postgraduate studies, maintaining records of achievements, and seeking mentorship as key strategies to overcome career barriers. The study highlights the complex interaction of economic, emotional, and institutional factors in limiting career growth among teachers. Based on these findings, it is recommended that educational authorities provide accessible professional development opportunities and financial support to encourage teachers’ growth. Schools should foster supportive environments that recognize teachers’ efforts and offer guidance through mentorship programs. Teachers are encouraged to pursue further education, document their accomplishments, and cultivate resilience to navigate career challenges effectively.
