Abstract: |
This study determined the influence of human resource development practices and emotional intelligence on leadership capability of school heads in the Division of Bukidnon for the school year 2024-2025. The research objectives include determining the level of human resource management development practices, emotional intelligence, and leadership capability of school head, as well as correlating the relationship between leadership capability and human resource development practices and emotional intelligence. The study also aims to identify the variables that best predict the leadership capability of school heads. The study employed a descriptive-correlational research design, using an adapted survey questionnaire to collect data. Descriptive statistics, such as mean, and, percentage, were used to describe the level of human resource development practices, emotional intelligence on leadership capability of school heads. Pearson Product Moment of Correlation Coefficient and regression analysis were used to examine the relationship between human resource development practices and emotional intelligence on leadership capability of school heads.
The findings revealed that school heads have high levels of human resource development and emotional intelligence, and they highly practice their leadership capability. Human resource development practices and its aspects professional learning community creation, performance of teacher and staff management; and emotional intelligence in terms of self- awareness, self-management, social awareness, and managing emotions is positively correlated with leadership capability of school heads. Finally, the predictors of leadership capability of school heads are emotional intelligence in terms of social awareness, self-awareness, and managing emotions are; and human resource development in the aspect of professional learning community creation, performance of teacher and staff management. Emotional intelligence in terms of self-awareness found to be the best predictor of leadership capability of school heads.
