Abstract: Having a good command of English in the modern world is the key to enter the global workforce and access to sheer mine of information. In response, English teaching methodology have been transforming to meet learners’ and social demands. Teaching writing as component of four fundamental skills has undergone different lights of approach, and the latest trend is the application of internet-based and computer-aided tools and resources, namely “blogging in an advanced English (Ruby Vurdien, 2011), wikis (Barley Mak, 2008), WebQuest (Yousif A.Alshumaimeri, 2013)” and so forth. Meanwhile, this productive skill remains to a great extent challenging to learners due to serious requirements on accuracy and linguistic features (Tangpermpoon, 2008) and little chance for teachers to make out-of-class reports. In an attempt to improve the situation, the researchers determined to pioneer applying several internet-based tools, that is, websites to meet this expectation. The study presents the effectiveness of such tools as grammarly.com, www.paperrater.com, and aihaiyang.com/software for writing courses at upper-intermediate levels in comparison with previous classic tools and learners’ attitude towards this trend. Data collection was carried out by dint of survey questionnaire and authentic student’s writing test results from on-going learning process. Details of findings and useful suggestions can be found in the paper.
