Abstract: |
This study examined the influence of external factors—namely Access to Investment, Market Linkages, Government Regulations, Entrepreneurial Orientation, and Marketing Practices—on the growth of Micro and Small Enterprises in the retail sector. Employing a descriptive-correlational design, the study surveyed 350 Micro and Small Enterprise owners and managers in the third district of Bukidnon to assess the perceived impact of these factors on business growth, which was measured across dimensions such as revenue, customer base, profit margins, and market expansion. Descriptive findings indicated a moderate perceived influence of external factors, with Entrepreneurial Orientation rated as the least influential, while Marketing Practices and Government Regulations were viewed more favorably. Regression analysis revealed that the overall model was statistically significant, with Access to Investment, Market Linkages, and Marketing Practices emerging as significant predictors of Micro and Small Enterprise growth. These factors collectively explained a notable portion of the variance in business growth; however, they demonstrated a negative relationship with growth, suggesting that barriers to investment, limited market access, and ineffective marketing strategies may constrain enterprise development. Government Regulations and Entrepreneurial Orientation were not found to be statistically significant, indicating the need for further investigation into their potential roles. |
