| Abstract: |
The research paper focuses on reviewing the existing literature relating to tourism, particularly pilgrimage tourism. A systematic analysis of the literature is conducted to determine the factors influencing pilgrimage tourism. Research papers focusing on pilgrimage tourism as well as on tourism and its service quality in general were identified. Forty-two studies focusing on assessing the service quality of tourism were identified in the literature review. The study aims to determine the factors used to evaluate service quality at pilgrimage sites using a systematic literature review and the PRISMA methodology. The resulting conceptual model highlights dimensions such as accommodation, transportation, information accessibility, food and water hygiene, and safety and security. The findings offer insights for researchers to develop a measurement tool to assess service quality at pilgrimage sites, identify areas of improvement, and enhance the overall tourism experience. |
