| Abstract: |
The Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) took effect on January 1, 2022, and Vietnam-Korea trade turnover has seen many improvements. Two-way trade turnover between Vietnam and Korea has increased more than 150 times, from 0.5 billion USD in 1992 to 76 billion USD in 2023. Korea is also the largest investor in Vietnam with total registered foreign investment (FDI) reaching 81.997 billion USD by the end of 2022, accounting for 18.24% of total FDI investment capital in Vietnam. Vietnam is the 4th largest agricultural product supply market for Korea; the export value of agricultural products in 2023 increased three times compared to 2010. Agricultural exports account for 5% of the total import value of Korean agricultural, forestry, and fishery products. After two years of the RCEP Agreement taking effect and the relaxation of rules of origin, Vietnam's agricultural export turnover to the Korean market has increased sharply. This article analyzes the situation of exporting Vietnamese agricultural products to Korea after the Agreement took effect, thereby assessing the opportunities and challenges for Vietnamese agricultural products when exporting to the Korean market, especially after two years of implementing the RCEP Agreement. At the same time, the author proposes some solutions to improve the efficiency of exporting Vietnamese agricultural products to the Korean market. |
