| Abstract: |
The study examined the knowledge, attitudes, and practices of rice farmers in Valencia City, Bukidnon, regarding paddy farming technologies. Data were collected from 53 randomly selected farmers using a structured questionnaire. Most respondents were male, over 55 years old, and had only elementary education. Despite their extensive experience and management of medium-sized farms, farmers showed only moderate understanding of modern paddy farming technologies. Traditional farming methods are still common, with many hesitant to adopt new techniques due to aging, limited education, and poor access to extension services. The study emphasizes the need for targeted training and extension programs that address the specific challenges faced by older and less-educated farmers. Improving access to information and resources is vital to closing knowledge gaps and promoting the adoption of modern technologies. These efforts are key to increasing rice productivity and ensuring sustainable farming in Valencia City. The findings offer valuable guidance for policymakers and agricultural stakeholders. |
